Other activities
Planning meetings with the project manager. These meetings are aimed at
planning and review of the volunteers' work in the organisation. They
also provide continuous assessment and allow to tailor volunteer's work
to their concerns and interests.
On the other hand, they can participate in the activities of one of the
70 youth organisations that form it, carrying out different activities
(educational, entertainment and leisure, sports, leisure, labor,
political, musical, cultural, for the protection of the Asturian
culture, and of neighbours).
Description of activities:
1st week: adaptation. If we have 2 volunteers, we hope they get to know eath other in that week.
Spanish language course, adapted to their level. If the level is too
low, it is possible to do another course (intermediate level).
They will also receive specific training: health, European information,
housing, social and cultural entertainment, leisure, youth
participation,...
The tasks can be adapted to the preferences and initiative of volunteers
after they know our organisation. The changes may be suggested in the
meetings with the project coordinator and in coordination meetings.
Volunteers will have time to carry out a personal project, as well as our total support to carry it out.
Practical arrangement
Duration: 9 months.
Time-table: Mornings, from Monday to Friday, and 2 afternoons/week.
Weekly participation: 30 h., weekends free. Punctually, activities will
take place on weekends. In those cases, volunteers will get free days
during the week.
Holidays: 2 days/month of activity. Holidays: agreed between volunteers and organisation.
Compensation: Extra working time will be compensated with free time the
month after, the latest. Weekdays and Saturdays will be compensated with
1 day; Sundays or holidays will be compensated with 2 days.
Meetings at other times will be compensated within a week.
Profile of the volunteer(s) and selection process:
Dynamic, creative person with initiatives. Volunteers will be part of
our team. Therefore, we expect them to suggest new activities of their
interest.
As they will have to deal with a lot of people, we expect them to be able to communicate and relate with others.
Participation in youth activities or member of youth organisation is an
asset. Previous experience will be enriching for us and volunteers will
be able to enjoy the project better.
At the beginning, Spanish skills are not a must. But they will have to
be able to communicate in a couple of months so they can participate in
more activities.
After receiving all applications, we will vote the people who best adjust to the project.
