Call for volunteers for an EVS-project.
Hereby a call for volunteers and partner promoters for an EVS project, that we intent to apply on the deadline February the 1st 2009. The service is planned to start on August the 1st and last for 12 months.

Profile and tasks of the volunteers
Jammerbugt Ungdomsskole is looking for a volunteer for each of the vacancies below. Common for all 3 vacancies are:
- Jammerbugt Ungdomsskole is very focused on a EVS-project should give mutual benefits. This means that we are very flexible regarding the tasks and any special qualification, experience or knowledge will be taken as an advance and the tasks will be adjusted accordingly.
- The volunteer should be a “Self-starter” and able to take initiatives. You will work together with our staff but we expect our volunteers to be independent and to create own activities. We are not looking for volunteers to routine-jobs but for volunteers that independently can give an added value to the organization and to the local community.
- A good knowledge of English is necessary in order integrate in the organization and with the other volunteers.
Volunteer to the international youth work
We are searching one volunteer to help us with our international work.
The tasks of the volunteer will be to assist the international project coordinator to:
- Track and respond to call for partners/participants to exchanges all over Europe.
- Communication with partners, preparation of participants and logistics before sending activities.
- Development and implementation of two exchanges in Denmark
- Coordination of the “youth leaders” (an group of young leaders for our exchanges)
The volunteer can beside of the task mention above get other tasks related with the international work and/or in other parts of the organizations ex. The youth clubs.
The more knowledge of and experience with “Youth in Action programme” the volunteer has the more challenging and exiting the work will be. Candidates with experiences in this field will therefore be prioritized.
Volunteers for the local youth clubs
We are searching for a volunteer to work with our youth clubs. The tasks of the volunteer will be:
- To participate in the ongoing activities in the clubs
- To initiate own activities but with point of departure in the interests of the children and youth.
The tasks will be very mush depending of the interests of the volunteer. A volunteer with interest in art, could take some workshops or other activities with the young people while a volunteer with special interest in computers could organize a computer-game festival.
Beside of daily work in the club the EVS will together with one of the other volunteers develop a interactive session (ex. Social theater, role-play or similar) and conduct this with children and young people in schools, youth clubs etc.
Volunteer for the smallest children
We are searching for a volunteer to work with the children in our youth clubs and the smallest children. The Volunteer will beside being in the youth clubs, work together with institutions for children. The volunteer will beside of the tasks in the youth club that is:
- To participate in the ongoing activities in the clubs
- To initiate own activities but with point of departure in the interests of the children and youth.
Also participate in do work as:
- Participate in theme-days or theme-weeks on the school.
- Run some games (ex. Singing games in English)for the children.

Offer special “after
school” activities in cooperation with ex. The library.
Practical information:
Housing
The volunteers will be living in a small town called Brovst 40 km from Aalborg. The volunteer should be aware that the service is in rural district and that the hosting will be in a town with only 3000 inhabitants.
However there are bus connections to the city of Aalborg there with 122.000 inhabitants are the 4rd largest city in Denmark.
The volunteers are sharing one apartment in the center of Brovst only two minutes work from the office. The apartment has 4 rooms ,(one room for each volunteer and one shared living room) and all modern facilities as dish-washer, washing machine, WiFY-internet, TV etc.
Danish classes
The volunteers are offered some Danish classes in the beginning of their stay. However the volunteers are expected to do a lot of self study and to work with the languish on their own.
Food
The volunteers are getting covered their expenses for food up to an amount of 1.500 Danish crowns (around 200€) per month per volunteer.
Normally the volunteers are deciding to make their food together.
Pocket money
The pocket money from the EC is transferred to the volunteers accounts in the beginning of each month. The lump-sum for pocket money is in 2008 140€ per month.
