Our Association has been active in the field of immigration in general and against prostitution and the commerce of human beings since 1996. It is in the Italian Register of the Associations and Organizations which work for immigrants, and collaborates with networks and private and public bodies both on a regional and on a national level. During the years it has developed strategies which meet the needs of the target group more and more successfully: the association organizes interventions of information and of primary prevention, listens to the problems, monitors the phenomenon of prostitution and accompanies the health and social services through networking with the support services already present in the area and through hosting people, opening residential communities with a family-like atmosphere for underage foreigners without parents, both for males and females, who follow preventive and social integration programs. Moreover the association communicates intensively about the topic in the region both through the institutional channels with public debate, meetings and cultural events and through educative interventions in the institutions of Veneto Region.

 

Tasks

the volunteer will develop the activities in the Welcoming area - promotes labour and social integration paths for unaccompanied foreign minors to becoming independent (once reached the age of 18). It makes use of a) residential welcoming structures- family communities always covered by qualified staff from the association and b) flats self-managed by the people living there, where they experiment their own indipendence skills.

For the welcoming area:

- support and assistance to the foreign minors care activities, i.e. social activities with the hosted people and actions for emotive support.

- Work in the community respecting its rules and support in the daily management of the hosting houses.

· Actions aimed to promote free time activities. The volunteers will propose recreational and cultural activities · - Activities to support the hosted people during the recreational and creative activities (educational and labour training, etc).

· Accompaniment to the territory services or other activities needed for the reintegration.

- Support for the management of individual paths aimed to the inclusion of foreign minors and for the active participation in the educational system and the professional training.

- the volunteer will also participate in the area team meetings and to the general supervising ones, and in all the activities he/she will separate his/her actions from the educational ones, headed by the educator.

For this reason, the volunteers will be supported by the project’s local operators, the tutor and highly qualified staff, with the objective of:

- Facilitating the adoption of a multi-disciplinary approach;

- Establishing informative and operative processes based on a team work logic;

- Promoting constant exams and monitoring of the activities, keeping the feed-backs obtained available for future interventions.
