Tasks:
The volunteers share daily moments with the users; which means also supervision during their meals, tidying up of the dining rooms before and after lunch, and activities related to their personal care (dressing, using wheel-chairs, etc.). They also help in the social-recreational activities of the centres and involving the users in the participation to the initiatives promoted by the territory, such as:
-Workshops: Psychomotor therapy and physical rehabilitation, art / music / theatre therapy, cookery workshops, handicrafts, etc.
-Excursions and special events: Excursions, trips, spring day, folk fairs, art competitions, etc. also proposed by the local community;
-Summer camps: Regularly organised (usually at the seaside), where the volunteers’ presence could give an important contribution in making the holiday more pleasant for the users and establishing a friendly and positive atmosphere.
Profile
a) motivation and interest to work with disabled people, sensitivity towards their needs
b) flexibility and willingness to teamwork
c) previous voluntarism experiences
d) basic knowledge of Italian and driving licence would be useful but not compulsory
