Art and culture project for children and youth in Wroclaw, Poland is looking for 6 volunteers
We're looking for a volunteer who is eager to develop in the area of working with children and youth. Creativity, passion, enthusiasm, ability to implement new ideas and having experience in working as a part of group are also important for the volunteer to have.
The activity starts on July 2011 and will last till the end of March2012.
Who are we looking for?
What is more he/she has to be patient, friendly and empathic, but in the same time able to create the relation of authority and discipline in a group. Concerning the fact that the group of Polish and EVS volunteers will be responsible for creating of Multicultural Language Café planning and organizational skills and previous experience in cooperation in multicultural groups can also be useful.
What are the main tasks:
Main activities proposed to the volunteers are connected with creating a place where children and youth can spend after-class-time in a creative way through developing their interests and cooperation in a group. The activities run by the volunteers will be organized in a Multicultural Language Café, a kind of children and youth club, where most of the events will take place.
creating and running workshops in the area of intercultural dialogue, tolerance an d human rights
animating free time of youth giving them a chance to experience the diversity of Europe.
organizing activities like watching films, discussions, presentation, local cultural events such as: happenings, little performances, making movies, photography, exhibitions,
karaoke
It’s important that during the project the volunteer will cooperate with other EVS and Polish volunteers to create and run the activities.
Additional activities include language workshops (for groups and for individuals), promotion of participation in European programs with special emphases on Youth in Action program and some administrative and documenting work connected with realization of the project
Where?
Wroclaw is a capital of Lower Silesia region situated in South-West Poland. Here live 750 thousand inhabitants. A big part of our region is mountains and this is the most tourist attractive place, not far from Wroclaw. Wroclaw is one of the quickest developing cities in Poland. The reason is the geographical location- near to the German and Czech borders. It draws many western investors. Wroclaw itself is a beautiful city with many historic sites and very friendly atmosphere. We have 14 Universities and Academies and very well developed cultural life. The city is located on the Odra River and is called Polish Venice.
