Project Environment and Description of Organization:

The Association for Charity and Social Assistance ACASA is a non-governmental organization registered in Moldova on February 4, 1998. Members of the Association "ACASA" are 34 NGOs and 29 individuals.
The mission of the ACASA Association is to contribute to the promotion and support of civil society initiatives through network capacity  strengthening and promotion of partnerships for the lasting development in the Republic of Moldova.
Association "ACASA" has three main fields of activity: Training and Education, Social Care, Social Integration.
The organization aims at increasing the level of life of the old people and of children with disabilities. It has created the network of NGO's that have direct contact with these social categories. The network of NGOs provides services for these vulnerable social categories. The
network is supported by the organization and consultants in implementing their projects. They are helped to establish partnerships with local public authorities, improve the already existing established partnerships by training courses which enhance their organizational abilities.
The problems that exist in Moldova and that the organization is trying to solve:
• Bad living conditions and low level of life of old people.
• Frequent violation of the fundamental rights of children and young people with disabilities such as right to education and others.
• Deficiencies in the legislation of the Republic of Moldova in Social Policy Chapter (bureaucracy and bad social services, poor quality care).
Direct beneficiaries of the organization are: NGO's that are part of the organization's network.
Indirect beneficiaries of the organization are: children with disabilities (physical or mental), young people with disabilities (physical or mental), old people who are living alone and are socially and economically vulnerable.
Location: Organization is located in Chisinau. It is very close to the centre of Chisinau with access to main venues of the city- parks, museums, the State University of Moldova, main boulevard of the city- Stephen the Great, with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants, libraries, monuments and art exhibition centers.

Volunteer profile:

Requirements:
• Responsibility, good spoken and written English.
• Experience in non-governmental organizations would be an advantage.

Volunteer nr.1:

Tasks and responsibilities:
Volunteer in Administrative Department:
• Work in office (administrative tasks, tasks related to specific projects which will be running in the organisation). This includes: aiding staff in creating reports, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, other administrative tasks.
• Aiding staff at organizing conferences, trainings, seminars and other events.
• Aiding staff in fundraising activities (one example would be fundraising for support of editing two magazines for beneficiaries- "Mîine" and „Mîine Junior").
Benefits:
• Volunteer will be able to represent the organization at various events
(trainings/seminars/exhibitions etc.) either local or international.
• Volunteer will be involved in free time activities of the staff which the volunteer can attend optionally.
• Volunteer will be involved in organizational visits to other cities of Moldova.

Volunteer nr.2

Tasks and responsibilities:
Volunteer in the domain of network capacity strengthening and promotion of partnerships
(ACASA is an umbrella organization for a network of 36 organizations out of which approximately 15 are active):
• Aiding staff with tasks relevant to the organization's network of NGO's.
• Promotion of partnerships between members of network and/or with new organizations from relevant domains of activity.
• Aiding staff within specific projects that will be running at the moment of volunteering.
• Aiding staff in elaborating publications, brochures, website content or design.

(trainings/seminars/exhibitions etc.) either local or international.
• Will be involved in free time activities of the staff which the volunteer can attend optionally.
• Volunteer will be involved in organizational visits to other cities of Moldova.
