The host organization will help volunteers to prepare the timetable for the activities, keep close contact with volunteers and give all support they may need during their voluntary activity. Host organization wants to involve voluntary acitivities in the IDP communities. Trought EVS-project the communities, organizations involved, EVS-volunteers and local volunteers will have possibilitiers for intercultural learning and will develop new methods to work in this area. AYAFE is working directly with IDP’s in Azerbaijan and feel that EVS-volunteers will bring an important additional benefit to this work.

Volunteers will organize social and cultural activities in the IDP communities. They will have active role in planning their own work and possibility to attend other areas of the host organization’s activities. Also they will present their projects and EVS in general in events organized by AYAFE.

The main task of the volunteers will be to organise various social and cultural activities for the children and young people with IDP/Refugee background. Although the volunteers will have some freedom in deciding the final programme to be set up, the programme will include English/French/German classes, music classes, art lessons, sport activities and some other social activities together with AYAFE volunteers. As well as class work, volunteers will take children on supervised excursions to the park or other places of interest in Baku and Sumgait. Some administrative tasks such as writing daily reports will also be undertaken by volunteers.

Volunteers will be responsible for conducting tasks set in project. AYAFE volunteers will assist them in case of difficulties. Moreover, they will have specific guidance and support from AYAFE Staff in the case of highly demanding tasks.

During the summer, the volunteers will be involved in organisation and coordination an International Youth Camp in the cooperation with AYAFE. The theme of the youth camp will be “social exclusion of young people from conflict areas” and participants of the youth camp will come from all over Europe and the world. Moreover, volunteers may initiate new projects addressed to the problems of IDP/Refugee children and youths. AYAFE will help volunteers to find appropriate funding sources in order to get financial support for these projects.

Timeframe: volunteers will be expected to work 5 hours a day at the IDP settlements of IDP from Monday to Friday
