Austrian private school announced one free EVS possition
Our Volunteer should assist our teachers and support the children by their school everyday life.
Local community:
Kreamont is situated in St. Andrä Wördern. This is a little community
25 km outside of Vienna - it is very easy to reach Vienna with public
transport systems.
There are 9319 inhabitants. Our school is in the centre of St. Andrä,
so restaurants, schools, shops,… can easily reached by foot.
During the summer there are a lot of possibilities to relax along the
old Danube and in the open air swimming pools. Autumn and spring are
the best times to explore the surroundings by bike or by feet. In
Winter there are a lot of possibilites to go cross - country skiing and
to do other outdoor sports.
Vienna, Tulln and Krems are easily accessible via public transport.
In our community there live more than 50 different nations. Our
government is very proud of that. So we have some projects for example
"grenzenloskochen" -"borderless cooking".This projects offers all
inhabitants the possibility to cook together with people from other
countries. So eyerone could learn more about different meals,
traditions and customs. www.grenzenloskochen.at- some pictures about
the project.
Accomodation/ Volunteer:
The volunteer will be accommodated in a room by a host family. He/ she
will live in a single bed room and can use the living room and the
kitchen together with the family. The volunteer will get breakfast and
dinner at home. Lunch is prepared and eaten at schoool.
Learning outcomes:
During his EVS the volunteer should learn more about the own
personality. We think it is a special experience for young persons to
work abroad and to speak another language. Our volunteer should develop
own ideas and a common understandig for children and their own
personalities.
The volunteer should also learn to work in a team.
He/ she will also learn more about our pedagogical principels and to work together with children.

During the meeting of the regular groups (8 - 10 children and one
teacher) he/ she can get to know the children, introduce his/her own
projects and get informed about the daily plans. Sometimes there are
presentations about new materials or new ideas for the instruction.
During the free study time the volunteer has the opportunity to realize
own projects together with the children. (during the free study time
the children select the learning materials or the projects for the day)
These projects are meant to make the children familiar with the
volunteer´s background. Language and culture in gerneral, in detail:
telling about living and eating habits, stories about his/ her own
schooldays, introducing tradtional songs and games, ….
The volunteer will definitely be a great support for the children and
the teachers in acquiring his/ her own language and is invited to add
whatever ideas he/ she has in order to enrich and ease the learning.
The volunteer should also learn more about Austria - so the children
will talk with him/ her, telling stories, explain something,… we would
like to have an exchange between the volunteer and our children.
