EVS project will take place mainly in Tallinn, which is capital city of Estonia and most developed and populated area in the country, TCBDP s situating close to the city center. About Tallinn you can find out more information from www.tallinn.ee.
The activities mainly take place in the Tallinn City Activity Center for Disabled People. The center is opened from Monday- Friday 10.00- 18.00. Depends on activities from disabled people organisatsions it is opened also in weekends. The building is fully modified to meet the needs of physically disabled people. The Centre is usually closed in July.
Mainly the volunteer will work in the Tallinn City Activity Center for Disabled People as an support for local staff. Our volunteers can also work some days per month in the other disabled people organisatsions
that belong under TCBDP as an umbrella organisatsion.

The main tasks for the volunteer in the Tallinn City Activity Center for Disabled People:
o Personal assistant for physically disabled people during the activities
o Leading the English conversation group for disabled person
o Helping together with the staff to prepare and organize the activities for disabled people.
o Assist the disabled people during the computer courses.
o Carry out the activities (culture days) for disabled people that promote the volunteer home country

For disabled people organizations in Tallinn:
o Helping together with the staff to prepare and organize the activities for disabled people.
o Helping to assist the staff in Rahumäe`s Children Play Center (place where parents can leave their children for some hours- also disabled children) to play games and help to spend their free time during their stay in the center.
o Helping to create project proposals for different project funds

Also there are many possibilities for volunteer to develop new actions- depends on the interest of volunteer and the interest of disabled people. For example start English language conversation groups, art activities, handicraft, etc. The staff of the Center is flexible and open to new ideas and possibilities, so the tasks may be changed and adapted for the interests and skills of concrete volunteer.

The volunteer will learn about the situation of disabled people in Estonia and the role of non-governmental organizations in social system. Through working with people with special needs they gain, as experience has shown, social abilities, which they will need for life.
The project is open for everybody who is positive, creative, with good communication skills, friendly and without prejudice towards disabled people. Should be interested in the field of disabled people. Former experiences in the field of social work is welcome. Volunteers needs to speak at least basic English, knowledge of Russian is an advantage, but not compulsory.

First selection of the volunteers will be made according to their motivation letter and before final decision also phone interview will be organized.

This project is available for the youngsters with fewer opportunities and staff of TCBDP is experienced in work with different target groups. Project is ready to host youngsters who are facing social, geographical, educational, and cultural and health difficulties and obstacles. It is possible to host volunteers with disabilities as the building of TCBDP is also fully accessible for people using wheelchair and stuff of the organisation is experienced in working with people with special needs.
