Cultural Center (GOK) in Długołęka is looking for one EVS volunteer
If you are one of those who love discovering new places and meeting new people, we want to invite you to participate in our 12 months project in Cultural Center (GOK) in Długołęka. The activity starts on june 2011 and finish at the end of June 2012.
What are the main tasks?
1. You will get to know different art techniques (art classes) and get to know methods of working with children and youth.
2. You will prepare a short guide for foreigners about Długołęka. You will be asked to collect the information about local culture, history and people who lived in Długołęka and write some articles about it.
3. You will get to know life of local community of a small village and learn local, Polish traditions, which are much more popular in the commune like Długołęka than in big agglomerations.
4. You will help to organize concerts, exhibitions, picnics, contests and many other events. You will be also involved in preparation of various workshops (art, photography, dance, chess).
5. You will have also many opportunities to promote your country and culture during different events (cultural, sport, social).
Where?
Długołęka is the largest commune in Wrocław District. It has around 20 000 inhabitants. The commune is rich in numerous water reservoirs abounding in fish, it has superbly organized horse riding centers and interesting cycling tracks. Długołęka has a good connection (buses and railway) with Wrocław, it takes around 30 min to reach the city.
