A. Project environment: profile of the organisation and local community
Chobienia is a village in the Rudna municipality in the North part of Lower Silesia region. It lies on the left riverside of the second big river in Poland - Odra. It is one of the historical places and the first signs of human existence on this terrains that are known, come from Neolithic. Also the nature in Chobienia is uniquely rich and very beautiful.
The cultural life in the community is organized by the Cultural Centre in Chobienia. The Centre coordinate the network of After-School Clubs, that can be found in almost every village of the municipality. Seven sports associations take care of sport development. There are a sport stadium and rehabilitation centre with gym, sauna, swimming pool and tennis courts nearby Chobienia. In Chobienia there are football pitch, handball and basketball field and tennis courts as well.
In Chobienia also health centre, bank, bar, post office, catholic church can be found. There are 700 inhabitants in the village

B. Proposed activities for EVS volunteers
Thanks to the work done during preparations to the activities for children and youth, a volunteer will get to know different art techniques (art classes), billiards rules, table tennis, volleyball (different sports classes), draughts and chess. He/She will get know methods of working with children and youth. During artistic workshops he/she will get to know interesting techniques such as art workshops with salt mass, wicker-work, painting on the glass, sculptures, embroidery and so on.
- He/She will learn how to prepare and manage a project; he/she will learn how to create and how to work in a local information centre and how to make simple web-sites. He/she will prepare a short guide for foreigners about Chobienia. He/she will be asked to collect the information about local culture, history and people who lived in Chobienia and write some articles about it.
- He/she will get to know the rules of how to organize and promote cultural events
- He/she will get to know lithe of local community of a small village and learn local, Polish traditions, which are much more popular in the villages like Chobienia than in big agglomerations.
- He/she will have an opportunity to see beautiful and rare nature of the valley
- He/she will have a chance to complete his/her own ideas, which can be something that would promote his/her country or anything that concerns any other of his/her interests
A volunteer will be working as an assistant of the instructor and working together with the them in the Cultural Centre. He/she will help to organize concerts, exhibitions, picnics, contests and many other events. He/she will be also involved in preparation of various workshops (art, photography, dance, chess).
A volunteer will have also many opportunities to promote his/her country and culture during different events (cultural, sport, social).
He/she will never work alone, but always with other instructors

C. Volunteer profiles and recruitment process
We want our volunteers to be communicative and able to co- operate and organize different events. It will be good if he/she could easily communicate especially with youth and children. We want our volunteer to be interested in culture and we will be very glad if he/she would be interested in photography, painting or any other branch of culture.

D. Special needs (if applicable)
We are open to host volunteers with less opportunities. We are able to provide them appropriate care, which would allow them to feel safe and free. Thanks to the advance planning visit, we are able to adapt the project and the practical arrangements for every volunteer

E. Risk prevention, safety and protection
In case of any crisis, due to a long stay away from home, appropriate help will be provided by the stuff on the Cultural Centre. If the problem boosts, we will provide the support of a psychologist. Every Thursday, the psychologist is on duty in the Cultural Centre and the volunteer can meet him. During the implementation, the Project will be supervised by the coordinating organization.
