Project environment: profile of the organisation and local community
Krośnice is situated in southern-eastern part of Lower Silesia near the border with Wielkopolska region. As a Polish administrative unit it belongs to the Milicz region. This region has beautiful nature of fish-breeding ponds and has amazing variety of flora and fauna. Krośnice is an agricultural region, a part of The Barycz River Valley and there is no industry around. In Wierzchowice, a village near to Krosnice, there is one of the bigest containers of natural gas in Poland. There is also a primary and secondary school, health centre, nursery, a bank, a bar, a coffee shop, a hotel, a Police station, a post office, catholic church, gas station and bus and train station in Krosnice. The number of people living here is about 1800.

Proposed activities for EVS volunteers
performances, festivals, sport competitions, local events. They will also cooperate with the people who run classes and workshops in the Culture House e.g. artistic and sport workshops, theatre workshops, chess workshops. Also, one of the tasks of the volunteers will be assisting in the work of the local point of Eurodesk. Volunteers will run workshops in the chosen area or organize cultural events, e.g. cultural evening to present their countries. We're expecting the volunteers to show us something about their national culture and traditions.

We strongly believe that we can give various possibilities, e.g.:
- thanks to preparing classes for children and youth volunteers will learn different artistic and sport techniques (artistic, sport workshop), improve or learn playing chess (chess workshop), will learn the methods of working with children and youth;
- volunteers will be engaged in organization of activities for all the local community;
- volunteers will learn how to work with projects and manage them, will learn to find information and organize it (helping at Eurodesk), will learn the basics of organizing cultural events and promoting them;
- volunteers will get acquainted with the community life of a small rural area, traditions that disappear in big urban centers but are still alive in such areas as Krośnice;
- volunteers will discover the area of Milicz Ponds and see how the inhabitants of the Park "Barycz Valley" live;
- volunteers will be able to originate ideas and implement events, e.g. those that promote countries where they come from, or any other cultural event in the chosen area;
- volunteers will be encouraged to dedicate their time to plan and prepare their own activities, with our help.
                                                    
Volunteer profiles and recruitment process
We can cooperate with any partner, the recruitment process is open.
The volunteer should be interested in animating the free time of young people, as well as be able to work in a team, be flexible and creative. The volunteer should be willing to work on the computer as well as have some coordination and artistic or sport skills.
We expect him/her to be interested in the topic of culture or sport. We would be glad if the volunteer were interested in photography, drawing or other art.

Risk prevention, safety and protection
Work of the volunteer and his accommodation will be in the safe place. Krośnice is a small rural area, so the volunteer will not be under danger of road accidents. The road from the place of living to the place of work will be 2 kilometers, so we suggest that the volunteer walks this distance. All the buildings that we use have technical facilities, and fulfill the requirements of building control. In case of crisis that might be caused because of the long being far away from home, the first aid will be given by the workers. In case that this help will be insufficient, there is a psychologist, working in the Centre of Culture in Krośnice, and the volunteer will be able to talk to him/her. The project will be monitored by the coordinating organization all the time.

Motivation and EVS experience
We would like to make it possible for the people of Krośnice to meet the representatives of other culture. First of all, such meeting can broaden the horizons of young people that are searching for their place in life. We hope that volunteers will enrich the activities conducted for the youth. We would like that the stay of the volunteers in our centre and our community had an added value. We would like that the culture of the volunteer and Polish culture integrate with each other, and create a beautiful unity.
