Conservation Volunteers Greece is one of the oldest voluntary Greek
associations. It has been involved in the EVS project since the pilot
phase in 1997 and has organized since several projects in the majority
of the actions that the youth programme has presented in the past
years. The involvement in the EVS is a natural evolution of the main
field of work of CVG that are the international voluntary workcamps,
though the international network Alliance (of European voluntary
Service Organization).
In the EVS, CVG is a very active organization both in sending and
coordinating activities. At the moment, CVG has proposed and
coordinates in parallel 2 hosting projects (Lehaina, 2006-GR-06 &
Horse Therapy, 2006-GR19); it is sending an average of 18 Greek
volunteers per year abroad. A large part of the volunteers that take
part in the EVS projects were previously involved in the association.
In the last period, CVG is developing the sector for disadvantaged
volunteers, joining more than one working group on inclusion at
international level.

Throusgh C.V.G's activities, communities and small villages all over Greece are given the opportunity to host multinational groups of young people and to implement important projects, wich could not be realised without the contribution of voluntary work. Training seminars for youth workers and campleaders are organised several times during the year. Moreover several activities are organised to keep volunteers close to the organization, when they came back from their camps.
