JAM – Jeunesse Artistique du Monde, is a project which intends to promote youth participation and creativity by using different forms of art. Our idea is a long-term process and aims to establish a sustainable network of youth organizations in the world using arts as a tool to promote intercultural dialogue and solidarity. The first edition of JAM was based on music and painting and the main theme was peace. With this new project we want to raise awareness on the topic of poverty in occasion of the European Year to combat social exclusion and poverty.
The EVS project will host 20 volunteers. As a follow-up we would
like to focus this time on a different issue, spreading information
about the topic of the european year 2010 wich is about “combating
poverty and social exclusion”.
The tools we want to use are still related to arts, but this time
we want to focus on sculpure and different kind of installations made
by recycled materials.
The topic of the project is “city-dressing”: we want to invite
volunteers and local youth to create installations in town to inform
citizens about the chosen issue. At the same time we wish to sesitize
people on global warming and other ecological aspects in relation with
the Millennium goals.
The project will be hosted at Masseria Zagarella, a few kilometers
far from Matera and the activities will be run in Matera and Altamura.
The hosting organization will provide meals and local transportation and the sending organization will cover the transport cost
