Each volunteer has the opportunity to search her/ his own emphasis within the project. If the interest goes to children in the city, or music scenario, churches and religious communities, sports and sportclubs - every possible focial point can be integrated in the project as long as it serves the information at the youth-guesthouse.The volunteer will be offered a language trainig in a school and the specific vocabulary will be transferred in training units with the tutor.All staff members will be willing to help the volunteer to accomplish her/his duties and plans. There is a big variety of leisure time activities in the house which are all open for the volunteer and can be changed/varied according to the plans/prospects of the volunteer.and there are always young people / other volunteers arround to spend the spare time with and help in the project.
Within the IB Youth guesthouse there are various fields, which deal
with the hosting and support of young national and international guests
On the one hand we host and accomodate young pupils and apprenticies
who attend vocational schools or pass some other kind of vocational
training in Stuttgart.
On the other hand we work in the function of a backpacker hostel where
we offer bed and breakfast at reasonable prices within the network of
european independent hostels. We host young individuals as well as
groups, clubs and organisations visiting Stuttgart for multiple reasons
(touristic, sport, culture,…) and if asked we offer special programms
on various topics.
Conserning the international sector we organise training seminars,
youth exchanges and study visits for youth groups and young people and
conduct them with worldwide partners (eg from France, Poland, UK,
Spain, Ukrain, Russia,…) Within The European Voluntary Service we work
as a hosting and sending organisation and therefor we cooperate very
closely with the German National Agency "Youth for Europe". Furthermore
we work as a local infopoint of the German French Youth support DFJW.
In our Infobüro Eurodesk we inform and consult all kinds of interested
people about youth mobility programs and work in cooperation with the
department of international affairs of city administration Stuttgart.
In all these fields the IB Youth guesthouse works with national and
international partners, multicultural guestgroups and foreign single
traveling guests. Therefor the assignment of European Volunteers is a
very good possibility to make diverse cultural experiences. They
themselves are guests in a foreign country and they understand the
situation of a foreign person, are sensible to the various needs and
convey information which is all but normal in the eyes of German
volunteers. Often they speak the same language which makes them a
important contact person in case of problems or secial information.
Since they are European volunteers themselves they can easily inform
and motivate other young people who might be interested in this kind of
sevice.
