Legato Youth Club
Legato Youth Club
The main task of the volunteer is to assist the pedagogues at the youth club – open space for non-organized youngsters where they can spend their free time: listen to the music, play games, sports (table tennis, table football, football, darts and other indoor and outdoor activities).
The
volunteer can offer to the youngsters new activities (workshops,
festivals, etc.) or encourage and support them to organize their own
events (discotheques, exhibitions...)
The volunteers can offer
the activities to the youngsters according to their abilities and
interests (for example one of our volunteers was a painter so he
was preparing the art workshops for kids, another volunteer was
making earrings with the children etc.)
The time schedule of the volunteer:
35 hours weekly
-
14 hours weekly (mainly in the afternoon) - direct communication with the clients of the youth-club (selling drinks and sweets, offering games and activities... organize workshops etc.))
-
6 hours weekly - other activities at Legato (there is a children circus Legrando at Legato centre, or at other branches. The other branches offer for example art lessons, ceramics, handicraft workshops, you can help with organizing music festivals etc.
-
3 hours of Czech language course
-
2 hours of preparation and meetings with coordinator and other volunteers
-
10 hours for volunteers personal project
We offer to our volunteer different kinds of support. One of our workers will be chosen as the “tutor” - a guide or advisor who will help during all the integration project. But we are all able to help him with passing through the cultural shock. The volunteer can use all the material support of Legato (computer, printer etc.). If he or she wants, can take part in our dance lessons (Irish, country, Spanish, hip-hop), martial arts (Kung-fu, Capoeira) or Circus lessons.
