Volunteers will cooperate with our associations in the main activities organised by the CEA Media Piave such us supporting the teaching activities, upkeeping the pedestrian paths. The CEA is located in Fontigo in the Commune of Sernaglia della Battaglia, province of Treviso, in the Venetian region. Fontigo is a small village of about 1000 inhabitants on the riverbank of the Piave. Fontigo is a residential village with few factories and all the necessary facilities, regularly served by public transports.
It is 3 kilometres far from Sernaglia, 15 km. from Conegliano and 30 from Treviso. Fontigo was involved in a great emigration towards European countries such as France and Belgium in the fifties, after the second world war. Now we have been having the opposite phenomenon: many people from Africa and Asia coming to live in Fontigo. Local people are well disposed towards foreigners in particulars towards young students, as we experimented with the summer voluntary camp for foreign kids.

Volunteers will be lodged in some rooms of an old villa provided of all necessary facilities (electricity, hot water, cooker, shower and bath...), located 100 metres from the CEA Media Piave, where we also manage a small museum of old agricultural tools.
In the staff there are five of us who are teachers so we will organise twice, three times a week italian lessons. We can also provide special books and useful material for them.
We will organise weekly opportunities of attending cultural appointements and events.
Volunteers are going to support the activities of the association for example in the teaching workshops. We have about 200 school classes that attend our lessons and workshops especially in spring. Volunteers can support the work of our teachers and in the same time they have the opportunity of learning by hearing.
One of the workshops called "Giocanatura" (Play with nature) that involves children aged between 5 to 8 years who make simple objects with natuaral stuff like leaves, bark, small branches, berries, musk ets. could be hold by the volonteers in english or in their mother languages in order to help italian children become aware of european languages.
Volunteers are also going to help us in the upkeeping of the pedestrian and cycling paths in the natural areas that we manage: mowing the grass, mending fences and wood bridges,controlling the signs and the watching stations and so on.
They will also reorder the exhibits of the CEA and keep the rooms cleaned.
They can also let us know their culture in order to allow a cultural exchange. For example they could cook some of their typical food and we could organise special dinner for the staff but also open for the people to taste the new dishes.
