PROJECT ENVIRONMENT

The projects are located in Vilnius (population 650 000), the capital of Lithuania. All of them are in the very center of Vilnius, max 20 minutes on foot to Vilnius cathedral. There are lots of places of interest, bars, cafes, cinemas and other places where you could spend free time round our organisation departments. The area is mostly office and rich people living places but here still live some poor people as well.

SHELTER HOME FOR WOMEN AND THEIR BABIES. Volunteer will be able to chose to work in: Single Woman-baby shelter (aims to give shelter for young mothers. Besides that there are educative proposals of parental skills and work therapy); work therapy proposal for unemploeyd women (train work skills for socially weak, unempoyed women).

Possible tasks for volunteer: to help in organising work therapy proposals for young mothers (creating postcards, sewing, cooking); to organise computer skills developing workshops for young mothers; to assist young mother in taking care of their babies (f.e. while young mother go shopping/arrange documents); to help mothers to learn other languages; to organise trips for young mothers; to organise art therapy proposals to raise self awareness of women; to organise festivals for the hole family on weekends; to help in organising some cultural events for young mothers; to help in administrative work; to help in organising some activities for children up to 7 years; to help to organise and participate in summer camps for single mothers and their children.
