Proposed activities for EVS volunteers:

The potential volunteer has the folowing tasks:helping the children with simple tasks in the project 'Alles in Een'. This is the so called complemential education or integral education in the way of project education. The volunteer can learn the different levels of education. There is a theme, a problem has to be solved, studietasks, experimental tasks and creativ tasks. Afther a period of 6 weeks there is a presentation of the whole project. In this presentation parents and family of the child is invited too look what tey have maded. Afther one week starts a new period of 6 weeks with another theme.
The volunteer has to read the projectbook together with some children. Then he knows the theme and the different tasks. Par example building is the theme. And the study is buildings in their surrounding, buildings in Holland, in Europe and the World famous buildings. Houses, Castels, Churches, Kathredals, and so on. The children have too study something about the construction, the materials and the results.Then they chose a building they have too made. They have too choose the materials and how they make the constructions. They can use textile, matches,wood, paper, and so on.
The volunteer helps the children with the experiments. Preparation of a excursion; visit for seen of a watermill. The volunteer has too make a apointment with the person who is in charge in the watermill. He has too arrange the following aspects: Date visit, maximal numbre of children in a group, numbre of needed parents, needed cars, insurance of the car and the insurance for passengers.

Also work in the Heemtuin Valkenburg is for seen. With children helping to seed and planting flowers and to develop an nature pad with them. But also nature work in a pool (sawing trees and cleaning of too many vegetation and to avoid pollution). The volunteer has to focus on safety during this kind of work. The volunteer can visit with some children the orchid garden and sheep stable. Visit of the Industrean exploration in Kerkrade with the children. Al kind of activities in the non profit sector is not visible in the week schedule. Did depends also on the competences of the potential volunteer. He can bring in his own ideas on this for seen activities.
 For the good practice She/He can visit an current Host in the Euregio Jugendtreff in Eynatten.
The total hours to work are 36 hours in a week.

Free time evenings and weekend. By the end of the project Alles in Een after 6 weeks one week work coordinating organisation. In the project is non formal activities for seen. Work in nature, excursions, 3 days youthcamp in Belgium and activities in the naturegarden and orchid garden.
The work in the school is less than 30%. extracurricular activities 40% and
15 % work for our organisation and 15 % study and seminar.


Volunteer profiles and recruitment process:

Normaly there are no extra criteria for the volunteers. Just between 18 and 30 year youngsters with no risks. If the matter is youngsters with fewer chances in live then we want in front contact with the sending organisation from the potential volunteer. Otherwise must the description of the project give the idea for the potential volunteer or this can lead to a successful matching. We want a motivating letter in mail from the potential volunteer and for that use we make an own volunteer formular.
