NGO “Dynamism, Youth, Diversity” Project: “Promoting Youth Entrepreneurship”
One area of hope is in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises, which are seen as having high efficiency and potentially playing a particularly important role in country’s economy. SMEs currently employ around 30 percent of the workforce and account for about the same proportion of national sales. Moreover, from the total number of profit making companies, 85 per cent are SMEs, of which 60 per cent are micro-enterprises.
Project Environment:
Moldova has confronted serious economical problems since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
A large part of the industry and agriculture is not used as there haven’t been resources for modernizing them after the collapse of USSR, with little foreign investment and with part of the industry under Transnistrian unrecognized government. This has had a direct negative
impact on employment. Unemployment and poverty levels continue to be high especially among young people.
Young people of today are the entrepreneurs of the future. Small business ownership can be a viable career choice especially today during high unemployment rates among young people. We would like to help young people shape and implement their dreams of entrepreneurship. This project will promote the fundamentals of starting a small business from brainstorming to evaluating the feasibility of the idea, developing the all-important business plan, learning from successful young entrepreneurs, making sound financial decisions and utilizing various entrepreneurial development services from organizations in Moldova that are active in the field of promoting youth entrepreneurship. Young people from Moldova need these valuable resources in starting and growing a business.
Activities for the volunteer:
· Creating a database of organizations that offer consultancy and grants (financial support) for young people who want to start their own business.
· Provide seminars and trainings for young people from universities and also young people who are unemployed (Possible topics may cover these areas: “Business Planning”, “Starting a Business”, “Marketing and Advertising”, ”Business Management”)

· Making and coordinating editing of a publication (newspaper, e-newsletter, a page in one local magazine or newspaper); This publication will include interviews with young entrepreneurs, articles about already existing small businesses of Moldovan young people; opportunities for young entrepreneurs etc.
Volunteer profile:
