Project Environment and Description of Organization:

Strategic directions of the of NGO "Friends of Children":
- Activities of socio-educational animation for children of all ages
- Implementing socio-educational programs, socio-cultural and artistic events for children in public and private spaces.
- Counseling for children and staff involved in education
- Promoting socio-educational animation as a method of adaptation, development, integration of different categories of children
- Seminars, Workshops for animators, participants of game libraries ("ludoteca"), volunteers and parents.
Since 2004 NGO "Friends of Children" has implemented a positive practice "Ludoteca- an alternative form of education". A ludoteca is a library of games, with a room where children can play these games alone or with assistance from adults. The organization has opened 12
libraries of this kind in Moldova, 6 of them remaining active at the moment. More than 2000 children have been involved in the activities of the libraries.
Location:
NGO "Friends of Children" is located in Chisinau in Sculeni district, 20 minutes from the center of Chisinau by public transportation. It is located near a park, a few shops and has good access to
public transportation.

Activities for the volunteer:

- Involvement in game libraries (the so called "ludotecas").
- Activities with children (creative art, artistic games etc.).
- Animation activities for children.
- Aiding staff in fundraising activities for current projects.
- Finding information for activities and initiating new ideas.
- Involvement in animation for institutionalized children (children from orphanages).
- Involvement in animation for children from hospitals.

Profile of the volunteer:

NGO "Prietenii Copiilor" is looking for 3 volunteers. Volunteer should be energetic and should have interest in working with children. Any previous experience with working with children will be very helpful.
The staff of the organization is speaking: French, Italian and English.
