A. Project environment

Our kindergarten is located in detached building in the middle of development. Far away from city centre and main street. There is a garden with a lot of playground equipment, hill and place for running and playing football. Flowers around make the place charming and beautiful and trees provide place to sit in the shade during hot summer. Voices of laughing and singing children are heard everywhere. They spend their time on playing together in the garden and inside the kindergarten.
Smoking inside is forbidden.
Parents of our children have very good opinion of our establishment. They often support us in our actions and they like to participate in many activities with their children.
We are cooperating with Primary School, Provincial Library, Community Centre, WHO.

Local community is rather poor. The neighborhood is safe.

The city we live in is Lodz.
Lodz is the third largest city in Poland, it is located in the centre part of our country.
There is a airport, railway stations and bus stations nearby the city centre.

Main attractions are:
- Pubs
- Theatres, cinemas, sports halls and concert halls
- Shopping centre

For people visiting Lodz we recommend:
- Cultural and entertainment complex - Manufaktura - place made for people who like shopping and spend night on amusement. There are 306 boutiques, restaurants, coffee houses, pubs and clubs. There are also 15 cinema halls with one 3D IMAX screen.
- Piotrkowska street - with all the crossing it streets is one of the most famous street in our city with a lot of pubs, beer gardens, shops, fashion stores, cinemas, theatres, philharmonic, art galleries and museums.

Lodz is an important academic, cultural, full of different kinds of musical, theatrical, literary, art and movie events ( like Camerimage ).


B. Proposed activities for EVS volunteers

Planning our cooperation we would like to give some practical knowledge to a host person by working with our pupils. We pay a lot of attention to the most typical aspects of our region: history, tradition, and all actions to protect health and environment.


We would like to be familiarize with traditions and customs from home country of volunteer.
We want to play and sing like children of other nations, and learn some phrases helpful in everyday life.

By participating in this project, the volunteer will:
- Learn how to work himself/herself
- Learn how to plan the day
- Participate in daily activities with children, join the workshops and cooperate with the teacher
- Organize games for children aged 5-6 years
- Acquaint children with customs from his/her country like regional dishes, dances, music, games, protecting the environment
- Write notes about his/her country to our newspaper - Nasze S³oneczko - and manage the dictionary on the website.
- Participate in traveling with children around the city
- Engage in art activities - make a decoration in the classroom according to season and occasions.


C. Volunteer profiles and recruitment process

From volunteer we expect:

- A variety of artistic talents such as: music, drama or dance
