The city
The Town of Pau counts 80.000 inhabitants. It is the main city of Pau-Pyrenees town agglomeration gathering 14 communes and 140.000 inhabitants approximately. The city is located in South-west, very close to the Pyrenees, the Spanish border and the Atlantic Ocean.
The city is equipped with modern infrastructures and its economy is based on the aircraft industries, petrol chemistry and the agriculture. Its associative actions and its sport activities contribute to the animation of the city.
Pau in the capital of our department of the Pyrenees Atlantiques and it is the second town of Aquitaine after Bordeaux and the third of South-west with Toulouse and Bordeaux.
Housing
The volunteer will be living in Pau, with the three other volunteers in a residence of young people managed by association Habitat Young people Pau the Pyrenees. The residence counts 75 residences and is located in full heart of the city near shops and cultural places like museums, cinemas and, library, hall Gymnasium and so on.
The volunteer will be logged in an apartment for two in a individual room. The apartment is equipped with kitchenette and bathroom. The volunteers will have accesses to collective spaces which lay out of a computer room with connection Internet, a laundry, a professional kitchen entirely equipped where the volunteers will share the meals with the other inhabitants of the residence, an associative bar with audio-visual equipment and all the activities of the residence (babyfoot, billar, hall sports, library…).
The volunteer is totally free in his appartment and collective spaces in the respect of others.
Hosting organisation
The volunteer will be at the MJC, in our offeces of Gelos and Jurançon (near to Pau).


B/ Activités proposées aux volontaires S.V.E.
We propose our volunteers to participate on the conception of a cultural event on our territory. Volunteers will support teams in place and will work actively on the connections with the other hosting structures of our network and volunteers, the volunteer will take part in all those activities:
- Choice of the theme and the date (linked with the projects carried by the other reception facilities): urban culture, Brazilian culture, street art …
- Choice of the contents of the event: concert, writing workshop, graph workshop, circus, street theatre, dance demo ….
- Conception of the communication tools, supports of diffusion and information: post, leaflet, press release, diffusion of information (email, posting…)
- Organization of the action: mobilization of voluntary, installation, refreshment bar, animation, reception of the speakers, arrangement…
According to his competences and motivations, the volunteer can also support for the organizers of the workshops. MJC hac currently 20 leisure activities for children, yougsters and adults from Monday to Friday (drawing workshop, guitar, school support, excursions, public space numerical, Spanish, African dances, capoiera…).
Moreover volunteers will be able to take part in the animations team work on twospaces (Gelos and Jurançon) where we propose activities during the week and Saturdays, during the holidays.
The volunteer will be subjected to the collective schedules of work is 35 H per week of Monday at Saturday.
Indicative schedules:
Monday 14 H-19 H
Tuesday of 14-19 H
Wednesday of 10 H-12H and 14 H-19 H
Thursday of 10 H-12H and 14 H-19 H
Friday 10 H-12 and 14 H-19 H
Saturday 15 H-19 H
2,5 days off per month worked. Sometimes, volunteers will work during weekends. When it happens, we will give the same days off.

C/ Profils des volontaires et procédure de sélection
We do not have a special profile of volunteer and all the candidatures are welcome.
We will receive all the candidatures via Internet. To ensure an objective selection during recruitment we ask the volunteers to send their data and motivation letter separately.
So strengthening the network objectives, recruitment will be carried out by a commission of all hosting projects and the contact point organization .
The only criteria we will attach a greater importance will be the motivation of the volunteer and the importance of this project for its future. We will develop the candidates showing dynamism, good wheel, curiosity motivation to integrate our project.

D/ Nombre de volontaires accueillis
In order to ensuring a good coherence with the activities of associative development we wish to host one volunteer over a given period.
However, the volunteer will be host by the reception facilities of our network. Moreover volunteers will be brought to work together and will follow the language training courses together.

E/ Besoins spécifiques (le cas échéant)
As a first experience, our structure does not wish to host a volunteer with fewer opportunities. However, after a first hosting experience, we might reconsider this position.
