Portuguese NGO is looking vor one EVS volunteer to support youth projects
Our hosting project theme is European Awareness and Youth information and we are looking for a youngster over 18 years old, with great comunicative skills and eager to work with youth and european projects.
SPIN Association is strongly committed in promoting and encouraging
young people's participation in voluntary activities. We truly believe
in a solid European cooperation through the spreading of the
volunteerism spirit and intercultural dialogue among youth. Our
organization is determined to empower young people and especially those
pertaining to marginalized social groups, with disabilities or facing
other forms of social exclusion, in order to widen their horizons,
develop their personal and professional growth and expand their
European awareness and active citizenship.
As a sending organization we wish to give the opportunity to the
youngsters of our country to participate in the EVS, in both short and
long term projects. We are aware of the importance of the volunteer's
preparation and motivation for the EVS experience and therefore we
provide guidance, training and support during the whole process in what
regards the project's environment and tasks, the relations and
management of feelings and cultural differences issues. In addition, we
are willing to find more initiatives and locations for young people
involved and we assure a solid articulation with the project partners.
As a coordinating organization, we are willing to promote social
inclusion and participation. Due to our former experience on
coordinating projects with young people, we will prepare projects
reflecting a wide European dimension, the intercultural dialogue and
equal opportunities, offering also all kind of counselling and support
to our partners.
SPIN Association is a non profit, non governmental organisation whose
aim is to carry out cultural activities and to participate in local and
international training, exchange and cooperation projects, especially
targeted at young people and people facing social difficulties.
SPIN puts a strong focus in the intercultural dimension of its projects
as a means of promoting tolerance and raising awareness in its
beneficiaries and in the public opinion in general that we are all part
not only of our local community but also of Europe and the world.
Providing access to our activities to people with fewer opportunities -
particularly young people - in order to facilitate their social
inclusion is also one of our main commitments.
A key aspect of our work is the promotion of voluntary service as an
instrument to stimulate young people's active involvement in the
development of their capacities and their communities, be it considered
on a local basis or on a broader, international dimension.
SPIN's staff includes nine regular volunteer members of its governing
bodies, most with a solid experience in the management and coordination
of European youth initiatives, including three members experienced in
managing EVS projects within other organisations (of which one is a
former EVS participant), thus guaranteeing a thorough preparation,
guidance and support to all participants. Our team is permanently
available for potential and actual participants and partners and
organises work preparation and coordination meetings on a regular
basis. Hereby we are requesting to be accredited as Sending and
Coordinating Organisation of EVS.
