Project for disadvantaged young people in Poland is looking for EVS volunteers

The youth involved in this project is mostly youth with less life possibilities (they have economic, social and school problems). The best if candidate is pedagogue (pedagogic education) or social worker.

We are looking for volunteer for long term EVS (September 2011 - January
2012)
The tasks of the volunteer's include:
1. organizing activities for youth (15-25) to encourage them to be active
(sport, film activities etc. - depands on volunteer),
2. organizing culture animations for youth (15-25),
3. information and promoting activities about EVS and Youth in Action
Programme among youth and for unemployed in various places,
4. helping in organizing international cooperation.

For volunteers, participating in our EVS project it will be great opportunities to:
- develop their interpersonal skills, creativity, inventives
- find out information about polish educational system, polish job market
- learn how to be a lider of group and how to organize activities for others
- learn methods of work with unemployed people and social neglected youngsters
- get to know polish hospitality, customs, traditions and history
- get to know interesting polish places, cities
- meet people from diffrent countries, new friendships
- develop language skills
- get to know more about yourself, develop your own interests
- lean how to help other people, how to cooperate with different people
- exchange mutual experiences and abilities in the field of work for young people
- possibilities to share them own knowledge with the staff and with young people - receivers of our actions

Volunteers will be provided personal support. In the host organisation the tutor will organize and coordinate the work of volunters. With this person volunteers could share their propositions and ideas about work with and for youth.
They will have a mentor who will meet regularly with the volunters to discuss with them any doubts, problems, propositions and suggestions. They will take care about the volunteers' need and request. Efforts will be made to help the volunteers integrate into the local community. It will be a person of volunters' age.

The host organisation will:
- find adequate accommodation, local transport for the volunteers
- arrange for the volunteers to eat at a canteen or will give them money to buy their own food and ensure they have access to facilities to prepare it
- arrange for volunteers language training (formal or non-formal) throughout their stay.
The volunteers will have possibility to buy very cheap, good and tasty meals in our canteen.
Volunteers will also attend the on-arrival training organised by the National Agency or host organisation as well as nationally organised mid-term meetings.
Daily sheadule can be different depending on season and current works of our institution. During meeting, which will be on the end of each month, the volunteers we will have presented proposition of activities for next month. In this meeting will participate volunteers, mentor, tutor, coordinaor and all people, who are involve in this EVS project. It will be also ocassion to discussed and exchange experiences and sugestions from last month.
The service of the volunteers will be: 6 hours a day (from 9.00 a.m. till 3.00 p.m), from Monday to Friday. Weekends (Saturday and Suday) will be free. Volunteers will have a possibility to get free days as holidays - up 12 days during they service in our institution.

C. Volunteer profiles and recruitment process:

The volunteer should be in age: 18-30 years old. We are not able to secure care of volunteers under 18 years old. Gender is indifferent. It would be better if the volunteer is openminded, communicative, patient and high motivation to work in our institution - especially with social neglected, poor young people. Command of language: the basic level of English would be an advantage.
To all candidates, who answered on our accreditation letter and to all potential volunteers, who are in base, and who would like arrive to Poland, we ask about cv and motivation letter.

The basic criterion during recruitment will be desire to work with social neglected youngsters and unemployed people (experiences with work with young people would be welcome).
