A.
The Dietrich-Heise-Schule is an independent Protestant primary school. Children being between
6 - 10 are educated in an environment created by Christian colleagues.
The pupils are individually taught in small groups. This is done in
close cooperation with our Polish partner school in Zgorzelec.
We teach in well balanced method to form tolerant, open minded
personalities. Catholic, protestant as well as free church oriented
colleagues build the staff at our school.
All together 7 teachers come from both sides of the German/Polish
boarder in the most easterly town Germany. Live here is still
influenced by the problems of a region which was over fifty years
divided into three different states: Poland, the Czech Republic and
Germany.
In cooperation with esta, the protestant children and youth association
of Görlitz many projects could be achieved to interest and fascinated
our pupils.
In former years we gained several experience by engaging volunteers as
well as language assistance. They all brought additional activities to
normal school live.

Risk prevention, safety and protection
In preparation to the stay of the volunteer in Görlitz we invited the person to a short visit at our school.
In our school is fairly small the headmaster and the second teacher will be a close partner of a volunteer.
In private areas a family of our school will look after the volunteer
and offer him/her lodging. Here we will get personal advise when
difficulties at school have to be discussed.
