Short term volunteering opportunities at a Community center in Greece
Tasks of the volunteers: Work with children (2-5 y.o.) + Work with Youth (13 - 30 y.o.).
All these years through, by hosting volunteers, we gained a deep
knowledge for other countries and other cultures. From all volunteers
that we hosted, we learnt new important and interesting things. Not
only our youth workers, but also the local community (young persons,
children, students, parents, teachers local institutions, various
organisations).
The volunteers hosted by the centre, cooperate with the youth centre's staff and offer a useful service to young people such as:
==> informing young people through the EURODESK youth information
service;
==> assisting in the use of computers and internet;
==> practising of foreign languages;
==> supporting young people with social needs in cooperation with social services of Corinth;
==> implementing free time activities & workshops for young people;
==> fostering the local and regional networking activities;
==> creating promotion material: leaflets, posters, videos, website.
