Social and cultural EVS in Turkey
Our Association is aims to identify our social and cultural diveris to European youth in order to let them aware of our culture. We re also aiming to provide young volunteers cultural interaction by the activities hold by hosting organisations. To pursue this aim we are motivated to install the idea of European Awareness in the brains of Turkish Youth.
Gaziantep is the city in southeastern Anatolia and it is the sixth
largest city in Turkey. Its population, economical situation, tourism
potential, and Greater Municipality make the city metropolitan. It
connects Southeast Anatolia to the West near to Ephirates River.
Gaziantep is one of the oldest centers that reflects the culture of
human societies. Its history goes back to 4000 B. C. Gaziantep is a
war-veteran cith in which you can relive the past and the present
through its historical, touristic and natural beauties, memories of the
Independence War and Antep Defence, high plateaus, plains, ruins
delicious meals, unique handicrafts, mosques, tombs, Muslim Theological
Schools, Antep Houses, Turkish Baths, and Caravansaray.
The association where the volunteers will stay and do activities is
a very nice place with its own garden and big balcenoies wide rooms,
workshops for art and music, a saloon fpr crowded acitivities and, a
multimedya room with wifi internet access and other technical and office
equipments for each user. The complex has its own hostel which is very
clean and comfortable for the volunteers. 5 minutes to city centre on
foot in a quite pleasant and quiet place.
Weekly guidance by the mentor, language training twice a week and
support from the staff who work closest with the youngsters, learning by
doing in Youth themes, non formal training opprotunities, self
confidence, learn how to leave, share a home, managing a monthly money
for surviving, communication abilities, intercultural tolerance.
The volunteer will be a part of the young team for weekly activities
about changing youth themes every week. or alone to run one sparetime
activity guided and prepared together with one of the mentor.
Volunteers will run the activities according to the plan below. They
will follow their weekly programs and be a member of a working team in
assisting and supporting the target group of youngsters with fewer
opportuinies. The volunteer will also run spare time activities out of
skills and interest, such as dancing, language training, art and
handcraft - well - in all kind of activities we have materials and
possibilities - indoor or outdoor activities.

Evaluating and photo reporting the week.
The volunteer will need to be highly motivated to work close to around
15 young people, She/he will be interested in social and cultural issues
of the society.
It will also be nessesary that she/he is flexible and be able to work
predefined in all situations. Practical skills is an advantage, as we
have nearly no theoretical subjects. We are open to cooperate with the
sending organisation who would help us find the right volunteers.
