Social project from Romania is looking for EVS volunteer
The volunteer will take part in developing and promoting activities of the NGO's social services.
Is a City in Western Romania, on Crisul Repede River, in immediat
vecinity with Hungarian Border, main city of Bihor County, being the
most important in historical region of Crisana. After the last
assessment in 2002, the City had 206.527 inhabitants.The Metropolitan
Area including other nine neighboring villages, had 305.800 inhabitants
in 2007, out of which 70% romanian, 27% hungarian etc. At an altitude
of 126m above sea level, Oradea is located at the opening of Crisul
Repede Valley towards a plain, within a contact area between the
extension of Apuseni Mountains ( Western Mountains) and Banat-Crisana
Plain, a transitory region from the hilly landscape ( Western Hills,
Oradea Hills, Gepis Hills) to the plain.
IGB per capita is about 150% higher than the nation average. Following
1989, due to the increase of consumers, Oradea developed economically,
mainly in the field of services.
Unemployment is about 6% below the national average, but much higer
then the average in the County of Bihor, which is about 2%. 60% of the
Bihor' industrial production comes from Oradea, population representing
about 34% from the County'total. Main industries that are represented
are: furniture, textiles, lohn, foot-ware and food.
Learning opportunities that we provide for our volunteers are mainly
practical. We refer hereby at the possibility to improve communication
abilities (verbal and non-verbal), abbility to interract with
individuals from a different cultural environment, ability to cope with
different unexpected , even difficult situations.
EVS volunteers have the following roles:
- provide support in activities performed by the association,
- take part in developing and improving of the social services and projects that are promoted,
- implement their own ideas if they are according tho association'objectives
- Fluent in Italian, English, Spanish or Hungarian.
- More than 18 years of age.
- To have potential, to be sociable
- To be able to adapt to a new culture, a new environment and unexpected situations.
- To be willing to learn new things, a good comprehension of the issues that the association deals with .
- Not to be guided acoording to discriminatory principles.
Our organization has such human resources that, along with training
volunteers, co-ordinating and monitoring of their activities, are also
able to provide counseling for volunteers. Asociation'employees do all
their best to help the new volunteers to integrate not only within the
association, but within comunities, guiding them to certain activities
of interest.
As an association, we have the opportunity to obtain accomodation at
very good prices, and accomodation at families, with no need for
payment.
Association has a complete and efficient Internal Procedure Manual
.Volunteers are to be trained in what labor protection consists of:
prevention of accidents, working with beneficiaries suffering from
various catching etc.
Organisational culture of the association is characterised by
transparency and safety, which ensures efficiency in solving any
possible conflict that may occur.
