Paistu municipality is small local community in South- Estonia, near Viljandi city. Paistu is small and calm community with its own shop, church, post office, local government, medical centre, kindergarten, library and civic centre. Also there is 2 schools in Paistu municipality. In the municipality there lives 1730 inhabitants.
Most of the inhabitants of the Paistu go to work to nearest city Viljandi (13 km far), biggest employer in the area is municipality itself with all of its institutions (schools, libraries etc). Important role in the area also has agricultural production (dairy cattle, pig farms, woodworking, berry farms etc)
Area is with rich and varied nature and suitable for developing tourism.

There will be 2 main areas where volunteer will work:
- Paistu Social- and Health Centre with elderly
- Work with youngsters in Youth Centre/ Rooms

Paistu Social- and Health Centre belongs to domain of Paistu municipality. Centre provides social services mainly to its own municipality inhabitants, but also for people from Viljandi county.
Most of the clients in the centre are old age pensioners, who are not able to cope alone in their homes and who doesn't have relatives. Social- and health centre is providing primary care services like accommodation and providing food, medical support, sanitary etc.

In the centre there are working altogether 9 employees (caregivers, chefs etc), who all are coordinated by social work specialist of the municipality.

Paistu Social- and Health Centre is small and there is place for 18 elderly people. Although this centre is not special nursery home, there are some clients, who have bigger special needs than others. Most of the clients of the centre move independently, some of them are using help of crunches or wheelchair.

Paistu Youth Centre. Under the Paistu Youth Centre, which is managed by municipality, belongs 2 youth rooms in 2 different villages. Both of the rooms are small and run voluntary bases. These rooms are not opened everyday and regularly. At the moment they are opened according to youngsters needs and wishes if they want to organise something for themselves or other youngsters.

Paistu municipality /Paistu Social- and Health Centre and Youth Centre don't have experiences with YOUTH/EVS, but are very interested and motivated to receive volunteers to their area. Partner organisation/ coordinating org.- ProjectsAreUs.org, has several experiences with YOUTH program and also they are familiar with EVS.
