The Radio Workshop Velpe from Germany has a free EVS volunteer place
The volunteer is active in two ranges: in the radio workshop and in the youth centre.
A:
The radio workshop Velpe of the protestant. church municipality
Westerkappeln is to all groups, independently of their association
membership, as a partner for the switching of medium authority and
production of citizen radio transmissions at disposal in the district
Steinfurt. With groups from the region we make a transmission about one
topic and give it to the producers who make the technical and editorial
assistance necessary for it. As "communication aides " we are in
special way partners for groups of children and young people and
schools. In projects with these target groups we connect medium
authority and the requirement of the group to make their respective
topic in the radio " audible ". Therefore the groups are considerably
involved from the idea to the finished product. We regard children and
young people as humans with own personality, who we want to strengthen
by our offer and whose communicative abilities are to be extended by
medium-educational offers. Beyond that we support regularly the
producing groups and offer them assistance and qualification
possibilities. As an appreciative radio workshop we constantly develop
our offer further on.
Youth centre Velpe
The youth centre Velpe is an offer for children and young people
between 7 and 21 years. During the open hours there is a co-worker to
the visitors as a man of confidence at disposal. It comes frequently to
consulting discussions about topics of young people. Moreover there is
a program for the youth centre. Thus there are made tournaments, trips
into recreational parks, medial projects or special offers for children.
The seat of the hosting project is the local part of Velpe of the
municipality Westerkappeln. Westerkappeln lies with its 11,300
inhabitants between the foothills of the Wiehen hills and the
Teutoburger forest. To open-air swimming pool, sports sites, objects of
interest, small shopping streets and the beautiful hills landscape mark
the face of Westerkappeln. The borders of the municipality lie to the
north at Lower Saxony. Westerkappeln is traffic-favourably opened " by
the motorways; Hansa line" A1 and " E8" A30. The university town
Osnabrück, 10 km away with its multicoloured leisure and educational
provisions can be attained very well with public means of transport.
The radio workshop is already appreciative for some years as an
employment place. So far three young volunteers selected this project
and did their service.

order to be able to work with the technical devices. He/she will
cooperate in workshops, in order to become acquainted with the function
