The school club of the YMCA Kodersdorf from Germany is looking for 1 EVS volunteer
The volunteer should support the employees with his organisational, logistic, sporty and creative duties and build up relations with pupils.
The school club of the YMCA Kodersdorf is in an outbuilding of the
secondary school. Kodersdorf is a village with 2800 inhabitants and
lies in the southeast of Germany, about 90 km to the east of Dresden.
The next bigger town is called Görlitz and has about 65,000
inhabitants. From Kodersdorf one can reach Görlitz daily by coach or
train. In Kodersdorf there is a post, restaurants and banks and shops.
B.
The volunteer should support the employees with her organisational,
logistic, sporty and creative duties and build up relations with
pupils. Besides, the volunteer will gain good experience in dealing
with children and youngsters and collect new, creative ideas. At the
weekly team meetings the activities are discussed and new actions are
planned. Of course the volunteer should also introduce own proposals,
ideas and abilities. The volunteer will be active daily from 11pm to
16pm (friday till 19pm). ) in the open club of the school. Here he has
the possibility to organise sports contests and game turnaments for the
pupils, to build relationships to them and to live familiar community.
Weekly the volunteer should support the Boys-Only-Workshop, with
special subjects, games, sports, activities for the boys. The Volunteer
will be involved as a co-worker in different weekend camps, and
overnight activities, and especially he will be involved in organising
and arranging a 14-day Teen Camp in summer. The volunteer should
introduce his country, his language and culture in the life of the
school and the YMCA. With pleasure the teachers would interview him in
her geography lessons.

For our School-Club we are looking for a volunteer, who is pretty much
open, loves teenagers and wants to work together with others.
It would be nice if he could be sportive, but it's not a must. The same
he should not be against our Christian faith, what is the foundation of
our work.
We would love to welcome you in Kodersdorf to an earlier date, before the volunteer year starts, to get to know each other.
E.
The volunteer will always be in a sphere of experienced adults and
families, stand to him with words and deeds aside and also intervene in
crisis situations. In the work, the volunteer is trained by the staff
who assist him in problems. Besides a stable circle of friends will
support the volunteer right from the first day.
