The city
The Town of Pau counts 80.000 inhabitants. It is the main city of Pau-Pyrenees town agglomeration gathering 14 communes and 140.000 inhabitants approximately. The city is located in South-west, very close to the Pyrenees, the Spanish border and the Atlantic Ocean.
The city is equipped with modern infrastructures and its economy is based on the aircraft industries, petrol chemistry and the agriculture. Its associative actions and its sport activities contribute to the animation of the city.
Pau in the capital of our department of the Pyrenees Atlantiques and it is the second town of Aquitaine after Bordeaux and the third of South-west with Toulouse and Bordeaux.

Housing
The volunteer will be living in Pau, with the three other volunteers in a residence of young people managed by association Habitat Young people Pau the Pyrenees. The residence counts 75 residences and is located in full heart of the city near shops and cultural places like museums, cinemas and, library, hall Gymnasium and so on.
The volunteer will be logged in an apartment for two in a individual room. The apartment is equipped with kitchenette and bathroom. The volunteers will have accesses to collective spaces which lay out of a computer room with connection Internet, a laundry, a professional kitchen entirely equipped where the volunteers will share the meals with the other inhabitants of the residence, an associative bar with audio-visual equipment and all the activities of the residence (babyfoot, billar, hall sports, library…).
The volunteer is totally free in his appartment and collective spaces in the respect of others.

HABITAT JEUNES PAU PYRENEES
Through his activities with H.A.J.P.P., the volunteer will integrate the team work, the management on the pedagogic project, the in-door communication, the relations with other NGO's, the group animations (mainly young people 16-30 years), the use of programs and data-processing tools. The volunteer will work daily with our team. From its particular statute, he will be the interface between the team and the residents, mainly by helping the residents in their activities requests. If the volunteer wants it is possible to propose new projects and activities, in bond with the objectives of association.

B/ Activités proposées aux volontaires S.V.E.
The volunteer will help the socioeducational team made up of social workers and socioeducational organizers. There is always a referent to follow the volunteer. The volunteer will help the referent in the preparation of the educational activities, will contribute to the installation of animations and will be able to motivate the residents. Indeed, many of them do not take part in animations, or have a "consuming" behaviour. The volunteer will help to motivate the residents and encourage them to become "actors", by proposing new activities and helping in the preparation.

" Contribution to the animation of the collective places:
The residences of Pau and Gelos have various collective places (living room, cooking workshops, computer room, bar) that are perfect for animations and educational activities. Those activities could be implemented in particular in the bar, with is a very nice place actually not sufficiently used by the residents.
" To encourage the participation of the residents
The volunteer will help the social workers to mobilize the young people and to increase their participation and their implication in the activities. It will be able either in collaboration with the team, with our partners, or in autonomy, by implementing activities asked by the youngsters.
" Communication:
The volunteer will take part in the creation of the tools of communication dedicated to animations (flyers, posters, programs…)
The young residents are present mainly in the evenings, the volunteer will work 4 days per week: From Monday until Thursday, from 14h to 22h (including the pause meal). The volunteer will work 2 days in Pau and 2 days with Gelos.
He will take part in regular team meetings Thursday afternoon.

C/ Profils des volontaires et procédure de sélection
We do not have a special profile of volunteer and all the candidatures are welcome.
We will receive all the candidatures via Internet. To ensure an objective selection during recruitment we ask the volunteers to send their data and motivation letter separately.
So strengthening the network objectives, recruitment will be carried out by a commission of all hosting projects and the contact point organization .
The only criteria we will attach a greater importance will be the motivation of the volunteer and the importance of this project for its future. We will develop the candidates showing dynamism, curiosity and motivation to integrate into our project.

D/ Nombre de volontaires accueillis
In order to ensuring a good coherence with the activities of associative development we wish to host one volunteer over a given period.
However, the volunteer will be host by the reception facilities of our network. Moreover volunteers will be brought to work together and will follow the language training courses together.

E/ Besoins spécifiques (le cas échéant)
Although our structure is used to host youngsters for trainings, young workers or even people with less opportunities and is open for this target group, we would prefer for the first year not to have volunteers with hard social/physical difficulties.
