Volunteer for sport in Turkey
The activities include preparing the training field and the sportsman, taking photos during the activities, recording statistical data, preparing training folders, partaking in announcements and calling for youngsters to join sports.
Volunteer will help coaches with the sporting activities in weekdays on
daily basis (in Province Directorate of Youth and Sports Mugla). In this way s/he will be the facilitator in
the project. The volunteer can either work in one branch of sports for
the whole project or change his/her branch and trainer; making it
possible for him/her to work in different branches with different
youngsters. The volunteer will increase his knowledge by experiencing in
issues such as : how to train a sportsman, team work, significance of
sports.
Moreover s/he will help young people at the center to spend their free
time effectively in Mugla Youth Centre. S/he will take place in the work
of announcement of the events, help with the preparation of posters and
leaflets, arrange the data collected on trainings and deliver them to
the youth worker in charge of the web site. Volunteer will be actively
involved in the projects prepared by the volunteers, especially in
searching for partners for international projects, corresponding with
organizations. This will help the volunteer to learn more about youth
work, incorporate his/her own ideas to the projects, attending social
activities and building a network of international friends.
Volunteer will receive 5 hours of Turkish language lessons on weekly
basis, apart from this, the volunteer will attend folk dances and
cultural courses per week. In that way, s/he will get the opportunity
of being acquainted with Mugla and Turkish culture.
The weekends are off, and s/he can attend to courses given by the center
free of charge. They will partake in sporting events, matches,
activities, projects, youth exchanges camps and trips throughout the
year.
Volunteer will share a flat with other young people studying at the
university and have also done voluntary work in our center. Volunteers
will stay with their peers, thus adapting to the country and the city
more easily and realising intercultural learning on the highest level.
Also the volunteer will own a bicycle throughout EVS process .

VOLUNTEER PROFILES AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Volunteers with high level of communication skills, warm, social,
helpful, patient, with a high level of motivation, sportive, interested
in sporting activities and youth works will be prefered. Special
attention will be given for a balanced distribution of gender in the
process of selection.
NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS HOSTED
We are planning to host two volunteers for the first year. After the first year 5 volunteers will be hosted at the same time.
