We are in the centre! Aggregation centre Calamita, Italy
The activities of the centre are different and spontaneous and based on the use of the material present in the structure (billiard-table, table-tennis, cards, football, table games) but also programmed activities such as workshops, musical events, tournaments and courses. The staff of the centre is composed by a Responsible, a Co-ordinator and two educators that throughout the years have been sided by some Obiettori di coscienza or by volunteers of the National Voluntary Civil service or also by trainees. Outline the project environment for the suggested voluntary activities, including the local community where the project will take place (e.g. geographical, social and economical environment).
We will apply for the 1st of September deadline.
If you have volunteers interested in the mentioned projects, please let us have:
- short description and person in charge of the S.O
- Cv and motivation letter of the volunteer (including also the telephone number)
- how many months the volunteer wants to join the project.
Describe the activities in which the volunteers could be involved and
the activities the volunteers could create in your organisation. Give
examples of typical activities for the volunteers.
The aggregation centre is open every day Monday to Friday from 14.30 to
19.30. Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9.00 to 12.00 we work on
programme/project issues and on the preparation of the activities and
workshops or events. The volunteer will therefore work for 31 hours a
week.
The volunteer will be gradually introduced within the aggregation
centre and will work with the educators throughout the whole project.
The introduction of the volunteer includes the participation to a
number of activities for youth and for children aged 10 to 16. The
volunteer will establish relationships with the young people and the
educators of the centre by taking part to and helping with the
activities, proposing new ideas according to the needs to the youth.
The daily activities are the following:
spontaneous: activities based on games, sports and recreation material
of the centre (table-tennis, billiard table, cards, games football).
The volunteer will take part to the activities of the centre. Taking
part to the organisation of the activities will help establish a
relationship of reciprocal knowledge and confidence between volunteer
and the young people attending the centre.
organized: workshops, courses that are studied based on the needs of
the young people themselves or proposed by the staff. The volunteer
will help organise tournaments (volleyball, table tennis, football,
basketball), parties (Carnival, birthdays, Halloween, local events),
workshops (patchwork, batik, etc.) What is important is not the final
product but the project behind it that implies the knowledge and
valorisation of their own body, the participating to the creation of
group relationships with people of the same age and with adults, the
work out of conflicts and frustration, of rules and laws and the idea
of being protagonist of a new experience that make them responsible of
something and therefore strongly motivated.
