Working with disabled children in Estonia
We expect Volunteers, who are creative and can be independent in their work, kind people, sympathising the people with special needs.
Proposed activities for EVS volunteers:
Centre "LAD" needs volunteers who speak russian (or highly motivated to
learn and speak russian) or english (only 1 person in the centre speaks
english). Needed work to complete is care of the centre clients:
- feeding, walking, cleaning the rooms, leisure organisation,
participating in all kind of activities which the clients have - there
are stuff responsible for that, and volunteer is expected to be part of
the team (50% of the working hours)
-organising leisure activities (intercultural evenings as well),
participating in different parties, excursions with youth (20%)
- cooperation with VITATEAM - regular consultations connected runnig
projects in this organisation, training service as a tool in improving
our project work, assisiting and supporting our workers in using
different possibilities both local, regional and European level (for
example, Youth in Action program) (10%)
- an individual approach and a possibility to chose their working
activities including a possibility to create their own project exists as
well, and will be very much welcomed, there are some ideas like help in
the computer work (developing centre's homepage in english) - (20%)
Volunteer profiles and recruitment process:
Very good, who could help in developing Centre's projects to European funds. We are also looking, for example, forward for developing programm for leibour activities of such kind of people, and findind exsisting examples in Estonia and Europe. We are opened for new ideas, and very flexible in bringing different projects if it helps our youth to integrate into European cosity.
