The main task of the volunteer will be to assist the staff and volunteers of the youth center in organizing creative games and workshops for children and young people.
Because of our project activities, the volunteer has to be a mature and responsible personality, with communicable English.
About our organization and EVS environment:
Our organization is situated in Banska Bystrica, a city surrounded by mountains, rich in history, culture and nature beauty (http://eng.banskabystrica.sk/). It is also a city where many young people come to study on our university.
Since 2004, our organization has rich experience with hosting EVS volunteers from various countries, with mainly positive J experience. We put efforts to continualy upgrade the level of our project for the mutual satisfaction of our community and the volunteers.
Volunteer placement in our centre will include (amongst other tasks but also in consideration of volunteer´s own ideas and capabilities):
- Living together with 1-2 other EVS volunteers in a flat close to the city centre
- Working in office planning and support activities
- Working (most often) with disabled children and/or adults
- Organizing various workshops for kids and youngsters
- Presenting EVS experience, home country and personal skills to various audiences

The Important thing is that EVS in our organization is usually influenced by how the volunteers want it to be and how their work develops – we support our volunteers in their ideas and try to be helpful in reaching their objectives, if they are compatible with our aims and activities.
Rules for the volunteers:
The volunteers will be required to respect common safety, traffic and house rules, and to
- respect their work tasks and working hours
- report the reasons of their absence ahead or (in unpredictable cases) as soon as possible to person responsible

presence at workplaces and premises of the hosting organization, it´s

Working time will not exceed 30 hours a week. The volunteers will
usually have weekends off. If they take part in activities during the
weekend, they will have extra time off. For each month of their EVS,
volunteers can have 2 days off (appart from weekends). Other vacations
may be arranged upon agreement with hosting organization.
Accomodation:
The volunteers share a flat which is about 10 minutes walking distance
from the town centre. Shops and restaurants are close-by (a 5-minute
walk). There is a fully equipped kitchen in the volunteers' flat, where
they can prepare meals. There are pillows, blankets and a washing
