The children center is located in the center of Eskisehir in a special living area of the people with lower income. However the area is totally safe and very close to the main center of the town. Total population of the city is 720.000 and approximately 300.000 of this population are young people between 15-30 years old.
With two huge universities, Eskisehir is well known as a "student city".
The workplace for the volunteers will be the children youth center. Eskisehir is so secure and reliable city in terms of security. According to the survey which has been done in national level Eskisehir got the second place on the list of "the best cities for living in Turkey". Also, as a center between Ankara and Istanbul (one and half hour to Ankara and 4 hours to Istanbul by train) Eskisehir also very easy to reach in terms of domestic travel.

Social enviroment of the city mostly based on own inhabitants of city. But due to the high population of students and young people, inhabitants mostly changed their daily lifes and adopt it into a "youth friendly" case. Most of the infrastructures are based on needs of young people and quite reachable in terms of prices. And also economical enviroment of the city is quite outstanding considering the other cities of Turkey. The economy of the city mostly based on public bodies and service industry.

In the office of the Municipality there are several working rooms and training/meeting rooms with all digital facilities.

The volunteers are going to stay in either Apart Flats or in a rented flat which is shared by other volunteers. In any case the living conditions are going to be safe and healthy. The flats will be furnished flat with free internet access private bathroom and kitchen.

April 23rd Children's Center is a safe, stable and emotionally supportive social environment that aims to help children learn more about the arts through fun. The Center is ideal for people who have skills and experience with the arts and enjoy working with children.
The center located in city center however the district is one of the areas where disadvantaged people settled in terms of economic situation. Since the aim of the center is to empower children who are coming from disadvantaged communities, the location of the center is quite relevant for the aim.
But the area is safe. The parents of children also visits the center so hereby volunteers will be able to contact with the local community as well.

In the center, there are various courses such as:
*Cretive Drama
*Painting
*Music
*Pre-school Groups
*Gymnastic Groups
*Peace Education

Those courses are being implemented by experts and volunteers can also get involved in this activities as facilitator.
Beside, there are space for volunteers to organize their own initiatives. Currently we serve for 1500 children who are coming from economically disadvantaged families. All the ideas and initiatives would be relevant for children related to their social competences.
In our multi-floor center, we already have a theatre saloon, several working places which can be used for multi purposes, a saloon which can be worked as dance hall and also gym saloon and a large library.

We are open for volunteers between 18-30 years old. We do not have a specific preference in terms of nationality.
But if the volunteers has a background on mentioned courses above we can involve them much more easier.
Volunteers should be motivated and willing to work with children, they are expected to have sense of humour and willing to work in an international team of volunteers.

We will actively use the website called "Youthnetworks" for recruitment. Also we would like to actively cooperate with DeM from Eskisehir which is an active youth organization experienced in Youth in Action. We do believe that their current partner network might help us for match making between our center and sending organizations.
An active coordination will be settled between our organization, coordinator organization, sending organization and volunteer.
All the possible risks and crises will be foreseen and risk mapping will be realized between actors of the project.

Activity Agreements of volunteers will be prepared with all necessary details. After arrival of volunteers, they will be oriented in city. Volunteers will be legally registered in their districts and they will be informed about infrastructures in the city.

In case of any crise, an active coordination will be taken between all actors in order to overcome from the situation together.

Volunteers will be enrolled in AXA system before they start the activities
