Hosting and coordinating organization:
Youth council of Slovakia (RMS) is a non-governmental organization representing the voice of 38
children and youth organizations in Slovakia. We aim to professionalize the work with children
and youth through cooperation with experts from the field of non-formal education,
participation; volunteering and youth employment. We promote the activities of children and
youth organizations in Slovakia and try to bring them closer to wider public. More details can be

We offer EVS volunteer, aged between 18 and 30 years, an opportunity to become a member of
our team and to help us develop projects highlighting the value of youth volunteering in Slovakia.
In year 2010, our organization’s leading project will be 72 hours without compromise (to learn
more visit www.72hodin.sk). We offer extensive room for creative realization within this project.
The volunteer is also welcome to implement his/her own projects linked to the topic of youth
volunteering.
We would like to host an EVS volunteer to offer space for young people to realize their own ideas
and to see our work from a different perspective. The volunteer will work in a close cooperation
with our project coordinators; he/she will have a chance to get to know the work of our member
organizations and active young people in Slovakia.
The volunteer will be based in our office in Bratislava, but will be offered an opportunity to visit
organizations all over Slovakia; visit summer camps and festivals in order to promote our
projects. The volunteer is expected to use his/her creativity to implement individual tasks as well
as to help out in the office with administrative work. The position will enable volunteer to
interact with number of young people, improve his/her e-skills and learn about overall project
management. The volunteer must be able to communicate in English and should be interested in
learning some Slovak.
In general, we are looking for young creative individual who is not afraid to come up with new
solutions; is willing to meet new people and explore various parts of our country. We would like
our volunteer to feel comfortable in our organization. We therefore enclose the list of desired
characteristics and tasks to be performed:
Responsabilities 

• Participation in promotion and information activities within project 72 hours without compromise (summer festivals, campaigns,
• workshops).
• Promotion of volunteering in Slovakia – regular writing of articles/diary on the webpage, blogging, taking pictures,     
• interviewing young people.
• Getting to know the work of children and youth organizations and informing wider public.
• Development of own projects (in case of interest) connected with the idea of volunteering.
• Participation of international meetings and working groups (in case of interest). 
• Administrative support in the office.
