General information

The organization is non-profit local youth organization of the city of Škofja Loka. We seeks to create the optimum environment for the overall spiritual, intellectual and physical development of young people between 16 and 30 years old. It is made for the purpose of supporting, organizing and establishing of youth activities in the areas of culture, informatics and informational youth service, youth leisure, sport, tourism, voluntary work, international youth activities and publishing.

• MMC Pulsar: Info-point with computer and multipurpose classroom:

Opened: Monday – Friday: 11.00-21.00, Saturday: 11.00-14.00

MMC Pulsar is regional multimedia centre in the Gorenjska region, which operates under c/o Institution »O«, Škofja Loka Youth. Our job is to assure free internet access, ICT equipment and access of information community to everyone in the Gorenjska region. Within the MMC premises there are 11 computers available, which can be accessed every week day between 11 am and 21 pm, and every Saturday between 11 am and 14 pm. As a support organization we provide all our equipment for individual and non-profit cultural organization free of charge.Video assembling, photo handling and media digitalization are provided for creativity purposes. We also offer top-level video camcoder and all belonging equipment for professional video production.

MMC Pulsar provides free Wi-Fi hotspot for wireless browsing available for notebook users and also free UTP cables for network connection.

MMC Pulsar has settled server infrastructure, which provides free internet hosting for individuals and non-profit cultural organizations, as well as allows promotion of their cultural activities on our web portal gorenjski.kulturnik.si.

As part of our programme we offer education and training in the field of multimedia – organised as courses, workshops and video projections.

Within kulturnik.si, which is a joint project network of multimedia centres, we have set up the regional cultural-linformation portal Gorenjski kulturnik  where culture instititutions in the Gorenjska region can publish their events, programme activities and other information, which immediately automatically appear on the Slovenian national culture portal: www.kulturnik.si.

• Art studio CLOBB(Computer land overtaken by body):

Opened: Atelje CLOBB has official hours twice a week, Wednesday and Friday from 16.00-19.00. Young artists and activists use premises and equipment most of the days of the week. Interested can get a key to work there 24/7.

It is daily used for artistic activities. All equipment needed is there and in studio we organize all kinds of art workshops for children and youth as well as for the other age groups. We organize weekly children workshops, art workshops of sculpturing with clay, drawing, painting, and graphics. Currently we can offer about 120m2 of workspace. The place also serves as a workplace for all the major projects of KŠŠ and Zavod O, such as Brucovanje. In recent years, Atelje CLOBB crew put together 2 notable regular projects: Mesto v barvah is usually happening in the second half of May and its purpose is to enable young, unrecognized artists to present themselves throughout the day on the main square of Škofja Loka. Second project is entitled Dan za strpnost (A day for tolerance) and it takes place in the middle of the December. Apart from the evening concert, the activities through the day serve, again, young artists to present and sell their works to the public. Both events also consist of various activities for children. The premises of Atelje CLOBB and premises of Info-point with computers and multipurpose classroom are used for exhibitions of our members art work and photographs. In Atelje CLOBB we organize different artists’ debate clubs sessions and other events for people interested in art. We also enable interested individuals to use our premises and equipment for their own projects.

• Youth cultural centre Red Oyster:

MKC Pri rdeči ostrigi is youth cultural center. It consists of concert – dance hall, bar and garden. Premises can host up to 200 guests. Ostriga has well defined program of events from Wednesday till Sunday (mostly evenings). Each day of the week has specific kind of events. Fridays and Saturdays are party and concert evenings, Wednesday, Thursday and Sundays Ostriga mostly hosts, discussions workshops, theater, young artists’ presentation, movie evening, multimedia presentations...

Under the premises of Ostriga is Ostrigas cellar providing a place and technical support for young groups, DJ-s and actors to make their own music and culture production.

• The youth projects held occasionally all over the town:

We run a few youth projects, which are held out of our infrastructure places in the other parts of the town. We organize at least fifteen different kinds of youth projects per year, which are not a part of our regular activities. Some of our significant events:

• Mesto v barvahM – parade of art exhibitions, workshops and sport activities for children, theatre, concerts in main square of Škofja Loka

• Brucovanje – big parade organized every year in ment for initiation of first year students. The program is composed of different activities, social program, presentation of movie we make and concerts.

• Dan za strpnost – Tolerance day, event composed of workshops, young artists market, concerts …

• Dijaški Živ-žav – big parade organized every year in the end of school year for high school students. The program is composed of different sport activities, social program and concerts. Attendance: 700 people.

We also organize few trips for our members every year and one week long back to nature camping trip in July.

Description of activities in Atelje Clobb:
-creation for scene decoration in Ostriga events.
-help in the implementation of different workshop (for children, with professionals, for all kind of target groups...)
-take part in the organisation of our big events such as Mesto v Barvah festival (town in colors) and Dan za Strpnost (tolerance day)
-take part in the meetings and think with the team about weekly activities and also general strategy
-creating and bringing new ideas (possibility of creating its own workshop)
-utilisation of all "art fields" in link: paint, sculpture, photo lab, press ink, ...)
-organization of exhibitions
-increase visibility of Atelje and involved local population (article in news paper, blog, small video, …)
-work in partnership with Multi Media Center (infodesign, publication, ...)
-archiving of Atelje, update of web page (photo gallery, newsletter, ...)

We are expecting a volunteer creative and with a big artistic mind who can integrate into a team with the spirit of a groupleader. The volunteer could be able to create, organize and lead his/her own workshop in the art field he/she wants. We hope the volunteer will find his place in the implementation of our festivals.

The idea is that each volunteer will be totally included in his/her team where he will feel completely as a member, to decide with them what kind of decision the unit will take, what kind of project they will implement, plan the program of each month and so on.
